This article from December, 1965 in Artforum magazine was one of Kurt's first upon joining the faculty at UCLA (as an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Art Galleries). In it, he reviews an exhibition of "Japanese Treasures" at the Los Angeles County Museum, which he finds lacking in organization and effect.
